Every Season...

I just love this time of year. Being from Florida, this is really my first time being able to experience all four seasons and it has been great! I love the way that the leaves are changing and the crispness in the air. It is really cool. Living in Kansas has given me a whole new perspective on the song by Nicole Nordeman, Every Season. I hope you don't mind but I have written out the lyrics:

Every evening sky, an invitation
To trace the patterned stars
And early in July, a celebration
For freedom that is ours
And I notice You In children’s games
In those who watch them from the shade
Every drop of sun is full of fun and wonder
You are summer
And even when the trees have just surrendered
To the harvest time
Forfeiting their leaves in late September
And sending us inside
Still I notice You when change begins
And I am braced for colder winds
I will offer thanks for what has been and was to come
You are autumn
And everything in time and under heaven
Finally falls asleep
Wrapped in blankets white, all creation
Shivers underneath
And still I notice you when branches crack
And in my breath on frosted glass
Even now in death, You open doors for life to enter
You are winter
And everything that’s new has bravely surfaced
Teaching us to breathe
What was frozen through is newly purposed
Turning all things green
So it is with You
And how You make me new
With every season’s change
And so it will be
As You are re-creating me
Summer, autumn, winter, spring

I hope you all find comfort and strength in this fall. I look forward to time with family and friends and having a moment to just be...and the best part is that He does re-create me at every turn. He offers me strength when I am weak and comfort when I am low and then He shows me the other side and gently whispers, "Now, go, and be this for somebody else as I have been for you!"

Peace Out

That is one of my favorite songs! I LOVE the last two lines:
"And so it will be, as you are re-creating me. Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring."

Fall is a beautiful time of the year. It's a time of reflection and giving thanks for all that we are blessed with. Thank you for your beautiful words.

We look forward to sharing many seasons of our years together with you, Curly, Moe and "the other guy."
